US Out of DC!

Forget Baghdad.

The real war is in Washington DC, where the police cheif has declared a crime emergency. This announcement was in response to a string very recent of homicides in the city (including the murder of a British politcal activist).

Most interesting part of the AP story? This little graph covering the Georgetown community meeting:

"I would think that at 2 o'clock in the morning on the streets of Georgetown, a group of three people, one of whom is 15 years old, one of whom is a bald chunky fat guy, are going to stand out," said Solberg, who is white. "They were black. This is not a racial thing to say that black people are unusual in Georgetown. This is a fact of life."

Uh oh. That's gonna set a few hotheads alight. Its like saying a white suburban kid driving up and down Mt Ephraim Ave. in Camden at 2 a.m. is unusual. Sounds like fascist racist racism and oppression. Or common sense.
